Saul Suster, MD has joined Amirsys as Co-Lead Author of Thoracic Pathology.
Saul Suster, MD has joined the growing Amirsys team of leading pathology experts as the Co-Lead Author for the Amirsys Thoracic Pathology Team. Dr. Suster took his basic training in pathology at the University of Tel-Aviv Sackler School of Medicine, Tel-Aviv, Israel, followed by residency training in AP/CP at the Mount Sinai Medical Center of Greater Miami, and a fellowship in research and surgical pathology at Yale University School of Medicine under Dr. Juan Rosai. He served as Director of Surgical Pathology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center of Greater Miami and Professor of Pathology at the University of Miami School of Medicine from 1990-1997, and as Professor of Pathology and Director of the Division of Anatomic Pathology at the Ohio State University, Columbus, OH from 1998-2007. He is currently Professor and Chairman of the Department of Pathology at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI. Dr. Suster has published more than 250 peer-review articles, 25 book chapters, and is co-editor of the textbook Modern Surgical Pathology. His work has centered mainly in the field of thoracic pathology, particularly oncologic surgical pathology of the lung, pleura and mediastinum. He has also contributed to the literature in the areas of skin tumors, soft tissue neoplasms, thyroid pathology, and others. He has been a regular invited speaker at all major national and international pathology meetings and has served as faculty for the College of American Pathologists, American Society of Clinical Pathologists, United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology and other national and international organizations. Dr. Suster also serves on several editorial boards for various pathology journals in the United States and abroad, and is co-Editor-in-Chief of the Annals of Diagnostic Pathology.
