Philadelphia, PA,
-- Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), part of Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading international publisher in medicine, nursing, and allied health, and Amirsys, Inc., a leading international publisher and informatics provider in imaging, announced a strategic relationship for the exclusive distribution of the Amirsys® upcoming reference textbook series Diagnostic and Surgical Imaging Anatomy, designed to provide practitioners and residents with a unique approach to anatomical imaging.

Amirsys first gained worldwide recognition for innovation in medical imaging, beginning in 2001 with the publishing of its best-selling PocketRadiologist® portable reference series (available in both print and PDA formats).  The company next produced the best-selling Diagnostic Imaging series, a comprehensive, bulleted format, quick-to-use reference source.  The new anatomy series, Diagnostic and Surgical Imaging Anatomy, will use Amirsys’s trademark graphics combined with cutting-edge imaging, featuring multidetector row CT and 3T MRI.  Succinct, bulleted summaries of each important anatomic topic will accompany the high-resolution imaging anatomy.  The first book in the series, to be published in Spring 2006, will focus on brain, spine, and head and neck; texts on chest, abdomen and pelvis as well as musculoskeletal and soft tissue imaging will be in print by Autumn, 2006.  The authors are world-renowned experts in their respective imaging specialties and include as lead authors Drs. Anne Osborn, Ric Harnsberger, Jeff Ross, Andre Macdonald, BJ Manaster, Paula J Woodward, Michael P Federle, and Lane F Donnelly.

Through this distribution arrangement, the addition of the Diagnostic and Surgical Imaging Anatomy series adds to the robust print and online radiology product line that Wolters Kluwer Health already offers the radiology community, including The Core Curriculum Series, Computed Body Tomography with MRI Correlation, Textbook of Breast Imaging, Orthopedic Imaging, and many more.

“LWW is extremely pleased to work with Amirsys in the distribution of the Diagnostic Anatomy Series” offers Diane Harnish, vice president and publisher for LWW’s Medicine publishing team.  “As a leading provider of radiology, surgery and anatomy references, this Series is a strategic fit, ensuring we can provide the depth of solutions our customers have come to rely upon from us.”  “We are confident that LWW, through its extensive international distribution system, will provide easy access for all of Amirsys’ customers worldwide to our newest exciting reference series of books” said H. Ric Harnsberger, MD, chairman and CEO of Amirsys.

The distribution agreement is effective immediately.
