Director of Sales and Marketing, Amirsys Publishing

The Director of Sales is responsible for the overall coordination, the functional management and leadership of the sales activities, and the development and operations of distribution channels and networks of the print division of the company. The position reports directly to the Executive Vice-President.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish annual and monthly sales objectives in coordination with the Company’s business plan
  • Provide an annual Sales Plan and periodic updates to the plan
  • Coordinate the specific objectives of the Sales Plan with Production and Finance teams
  • Develop and manage domestic as well as international marketing campaign in all media (electronic, direct mail, etc)
  • Develop and manage domestic as well as international field sales representatives, internet sales and customer support surrounding the print business
  • Develop and manage distribution network & associated facilities
  • Define and manage the monthly and annual sales objectives for all of the sales personnel
  • Expected to spend a significant portion of time in the field with distributors and sales representatives
  • Establish compensation plans for personnel including salary structures, commission plans, and incentive plans

Skills:
  • Must have current knowledge of market and industry trends & competitors
  • Has been a sales manager in the print publishing industry
  • Preferably has played a role in defining and implementing sales & distribution channels
  • Has managed both in house and field sales personnel
  • Has developed and executed tactical sales plans including quotas and account objectives
  • Has managed phone sales and support
  • Is highly organized and has very effective time management skills
  • Is highly computer literate and has used sales database tracking systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong listening skills

Experience & Attributes:
  • Minimum 5 – 10 years in industry
  • Minimum 5 years as Sales Manager
  • Highly customer focused
  • Strong leadership qualities with customers and employees
  • Highly efficient
  • Abilities to set policies but remain flexible when customer conditions require
